Abstract

The text is a review of the books Beef, Bible and bullets, by Richard Lapper, and Brazil, land of the past, by Georg Wink, both published in 2021, which address Bolsonaro and the right-wing in Brazil. It seeks to present and evaluate the works, in a partially comparative way, discussing how the viewpoint of foreign researchers may have peculiarities, in relation to what is observed by Brazilians.
